Coyote Boy

Tribal fires lick my thighs,

a story arrives in fragments—

Coyote sagas

turn it to stone,

in the eyes of all the planets.

The desert and the night spread wide, wide,

heal me, coyote—

fuck me for the rains inside.

Half-man,

half-spirit of the southwest,

ride,

a ride.

Straddled by dunes,

by mirage, breathless heat,

hit it, hit it

until you hit my heart—

Make the planets tilt

to watch this part.

Coyote boy…
